Watercolor Inspiration Card-WOW

Hi there Wow fans, this is Jenifer here with you today to share my project.  I drew my inspiration from this oh so talented team, from Nicole, did you happen to see her beautiful butterfly card?  I was drawn to it and just knew I had to give this technique a try.  She has a wonderful video of her process as well, you can check it out here :)
I chose the Lace stamp from WOW and just colored in some of the flowers with different colors of watercolor.  The image was a little hard to see on the white cardstock so I went around it with a smokey grey watercolor to make it pop just a little bit.

As you can see I need a little bit more practice but I am happy with the result.  This is a pretty easy technique and I will definitely be trying it again soon.  Thank you so much Nicole for the inspiration.

Freddie Hat from The Magic Pattern Book-TOW

Hi I'm here with you today to share my project from The Magic Pattern Book.  I printed out several of the patterns to make but ended up making the Freddie hat for now.  The book has pictures and easy to follow directions.

I used a fine wale embroidered corduroy that I have had in my stash for years.  I used heatnbond medium-weight fusible for the body of the hat.  For the brim of the hat I added 2 layers of StitchnSew extra firm to make sure the shape of the hat stays intact.

I love the way this hat turned out and I can't wait to make more from this book.  I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to make their own garments, with the pictures and easy to follow directions you can't go wrong.

Live it up Midori Travel Journal-Chick Chat Stack-DCWV

Hello DCWV fans!  It's Jenifer, from the DCWV Social Media Design Team, showing you a super fun project on the blog today. I hope you have been enjoying a look at the two new stacks that will soon be available at Michaels stores.  If you missed Monday's post, be sure to head over here and check it out.

Have you seen the new planner/journal trend that has been happening in blogland?  I have to admit I am a sucker for them and absolutely love nice new journals to play with.  I created one for each stack for more pictures of the Seaside Yacht stack I invite you to stop by the DCWV blog and check them out.

These journals have removable journal inserts that can changed out when they are full.  These journals are held in place with a small piece of elastic string that runs through the middle of them, and another piece of elastic that holds the journal in place.  To reinforce this piece of elastic I inserted it through a button so that it wouldn't tear the fabric.

I absolutely LOVE the Chick Chat stack with the fun bright colors it makes this a perfect fit for a Midori Travel Journal.  For the cover I sewed a piece of the Canvas stack to a piece of canvas that I had laying around to give it a little more weight and make it a little sturdier.  I also used a fun stencil and painted on a beautiful patter with a fun bling center.  Along the bottom I sewed 2 different sizes scrap piece of paper to the bottom to give me duel pockets to play with.

For the first journal insert I used this beautiful, fun polka dot paper and decorated it very simply letting the papers take center stage.

I did the same thing with the second insert.  I used a piece of the wonderful burlap to frame the little hearts.

There is also a pocket for the back to hold extra bits and bobs.  I think I will give this fun journal to my Daughter for her Birthday, I just know she will love it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my project today.  If you make a Midori Travel journal I would love to check it out, leave me a link in the comments.

Together Forever Scroll Rustic Charm Feature- Ruby Rock-It

Hi there Ruby Rock-It fans this is Jenifer here with you today to share a fun project with you featuring the Rustic Charm collection.  I made this fun scroll for my Valentine using a recycled spool from a used roll of ribbon.

This is what I started with.
I decorated the top with some lovely Bella Blooms and handmade vellum flowers.  I adhered the together forever dimensional stick between some toothpicks and made a cute sign.
This was a small spool so I cut a 1" piece of 12x12 paper and wrote down a little love note and then cut out the Together Forever from the patterned paper. I hot glued it to the spool and now I have a fun little piece of valentines artwork.

Rustic Charm Feature Adore Layout- Ruby Rock-It

Welcome to another W on Wednesday, this is Jenifer here with you today to share a fun layout.  A friend of mine recently got married. She had a gorgeous dress and ended up getting these super cute lace tennis shoes, and they just needed to be documented.  Sometimes even the smallest of details need to shine.

Here is a fun closeup of the ruffles I created when I cut apart some doilies.  I just layered them on double sided tape to create these quick and easy ruffles.  It brings out the lace in the shoes and the ruffles of the dress.

Here is part of the flower cluster, I love, love, love the bella flowers.  The perfect finish to my layout is the wood sign going up the side.  The Rustic Charm collection was the perfect fit for my pictures and I can't wait to show you some of the other projects that I have made with this collection.

Wintery tag-May Arts/Faber Castell

Welcome to the May Arts/ Faber Castell hop.  Make sure you stop by everyone's lovely projects for your chance to win a wonderful prize.  I have to say that I am in love with Gelatoes, they are so much fun and so forgiving, a perfect place for a mixed media starter like me.
I am loving the effect of the gelatos on this tag.  First I embossed with some Wow glitter embossing powder then I rubbed the gelatos on the top in an ombre effect and then with a paint brush dipped in water lightly blended.  When that was done I lightly sprayed some spots with water and let it drip.

2015 Calendars-May Arts

Welcome May Arts fans, Jenifer here with you today to share my 2015 calendars.  I make these every year for the Grandparents and myself so I make 5 of them.  They are similar but I also have to keep them fairly simple to get them all done.  I make them 8x8 so that at the end of the year they can take out the coils and put them directly into albums.  Bonus.  Go Check it out here:

Simple Cover:  NX04 Stitched center ribbon in blue.  Cut a 6" piece and pull the center thread and tie it in a knot and you get these fun ruffle clusters.  Spellbinders die, doily and beads.
Here is a peek at the cover go see what the rest of the pages look like here.
