EarthDay May Arts Blog hop

Earth Day Blog Hop with May Arts
I hope everyone has a wonderful and Peaceful Earth Day.  My project is very simple but you must remember that every little bit helps.
I took a peanut butter container and wrapped it in some beautiful May Arts Ribbons and used a chalk board tag to label it.  It is now my container to store my May Arts Silk flowers :)  This is just one package, there are so many, I would definitely recommend getting these.  Imagine the possibilities:)

Ribbon Organization hop with May Arts

Welcome to Day 2 in the May Arts Ribbonista Organizaion Hop- I hope you are enjoying all the wonderful ways the ladies store and organize their ribbon.  There are definitely some very cool ideas out there.

Well I am in the middle of a room makeover so I thought I would share how I store my May Arts bakers twine.  I absolutely love the twine, it is nice and thick and the colors are lovely.  I have tried several different ways to store these wonderful spools but since I use them so much they tend to tangle and they end up being a mess all over the place so I put them in these jars.

We make a lot of pizz at our house and the jars that the sauce comes in is perfet for holding these bakers twine spools.  I drilled a hole in the top of the lid and run the twine thru.  I put a coffee filter over the top and tie it together with a coordinating colored ribbon.  It takes up a little bit of space on my desk but it keeps the mess of twine from taking over.

Make sure you stop by everyone elses blogs and see how they organize.

Custom Cards May Arts

I have a quick post up on the May Arts blog today, go check it out :)
Create Cards with Custom Colored Ribbon
Hi this is Jenifer here with you today.  What do you do with that wonderful dye you use to color your Easter eggs?  Well if you’re like me and you just can’t throw those beautiful cups of color down the sink you run to your desk and drop in some of the new May Arts eyelet ribbon.
The Eyelet is 100% cotton and the dye works beautifully.  I quickly made some lovely notecards and wrapped my newly dyed eyelet along the fold.  Here are some closeups.

Confetti Party Bag at Curtsey Boutique

I have a fun bag up on the Curtsey Blog.. Make sure you stop by and check out all of the fun projects :

DIY Confetti Bag Tutorial
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jennifer Cowles
Jennifer is with us today sharing this wonderfully fanciful confetti bag tutorial. Confetti is all the rage in paper crafting these days and now you too can add to your cards, packaging and layouts by following these simple steps below.

1. Fill one of the Curtsey Boutique's 3x4 clear bags with confetti dots, glitter punches and whatever other tiny embellishments you have laying around.

2. Sew the open end shut.

3. Cut square shape from front of wood grain embossed bag.

4. Use double sided tape to tape the confetti pouch to the inside of the kraft bag.

5. Embellish!

Jen used washi tape at each of the cut outs corners, a Curtsey Boutique paper bow and letter stickers to spell out her sentiment. This would make a great envelope for your invitations or a favor bag for guests to take with them.

Clipboard Pen Organizer May Arts

I have a fun little tutorial up on the May Arts blog last week.  How fun is this?
Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to show you a quick and easy way to organize your pens.  I use a clipboard at work every day and I am always either losing my pens or my papers are flying around all over the place.  So I made these easy elastic and ribbon pen organizers that not only hold my pens but also hold my papers in place.
Clipboard Pen Organizer
My clipboard is the standard that holds 8.5”x11” papers.  I cut 18” of elastic and sewed the ends together.  I then took a 14” piece of ribbon folded in half with the ends in the center back.  I put a decorative lace over the top and then sewed this down to my elastic.  I then sewed the ribbon down in about 1” increments this is the loops that will hold my pens.  Voila you are done.  How cute are my clipboards now?  And I will always have a pen handy.

Dream Big Canvas-WOW

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share this fun canvas I made. I started out with a canvas that I had messed up on and was just laying around.  The first step was to scrunch up a couple layers of wax paper and  mod podge them to the canvas.  After that I used some spackling that I got from Home Depot and added a nice textured layer on top of the was paper.  I then took another sheet of wax paper and scrunched it up and went to town with my WOW powders.  I put the versamark pad directly on the paper not worrying about getting into all the nice little cracks.  After cutting out my embossed waxed paper into 3x3 squares I mod podged them to the canvas, at this point I felt they were a little to bright so I put a thin layer of white paint over the top and it went into the cracks and I was very happy with the results.  Then it was the layering of all the fun elements.

Here is a close-up of  all the details.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today, it really is amazing what you can do with materials you may have laying around the house.

Wow embossing powders, Cable Car Red, California Sunshine, Earthtone Grape, Metaline Green, Opaque Primary Azure.
